Garden Sheds Are An Extension Of Your Home

Published by Ares under Ares Music

Article by Peter Finch

Garden sheds are typically single-storeyed structures in ones back garden or farm, used as a storage-house, hobby-zone or a workshop. They vary considerably in complexity of their construction and size, from small open-sided tin-roofed structures, to large wood-framed sheds with shingled roofs, windows and electrical outlets inside.

They can be built using thin metal sheets like galvanized iron or aluminum, which are generally used from the viewpoint of providing long term strength and resistance to fire, rot or termite. They may also be made of PVC or polyethylene which has a good resistance to denting and chipping. Wooden sheds have a natural look that can blend in well with garden environments.

Kinds of Garden Sheds

- Storage Buildings- Farm Sheds- Wood Cabins- Garages- Green Houses- Conservatories- Gazebos- Chalets- Childrens Play Houses- Summer Houses- Work Shops

Applications

One of the primary functions of garden sheds is as storage devices for garden equipments, tools, accessories and furniture. Farm sheds are a good way for farmers to keep a comfortable watch on their farms. Green houses also act as a good bed for growing trees quickly and as a horticulture laboratory.

Garden sheds can serve as small business-houses at times, or play stations for children. They can be used as bird-houses, chicken-coops or other pet-homes to provide your furry friends with shelter. And for you, it could be a place of peace and privacy, away from the daily hustle and bustle of life.

Tips

- You need to select the best place for your garden sheds so that they are useful and look beautiful as well. The back corner of your property may be the most conventional location, but that doesn’t mean it is the best location. Place your sheds with discretion.

- Don’t put your sheds on the most fertile soil in your gardens, nor place them where a garden bed is to be shaded during the growing season.

- You need water for many gardening tasks. Try to build your garden sheds near a water source.

- Your garden sheds should be conveniently located, because you’ll be using them for many purposes on a regular basis. You may want to place it near an existing path. If not, you’ll probably have to create a new one.

- Make sure the door to your garden sheds is wide enough to move your equipment in and out easily. Bumping the door-frame every time you move a wheel-barrow can be a real nuisance!

- Garden sheds are are of various types. If a wood-piece is to be selected, quality of wood to be taken care of.

- Despite the strength of quality wood, over time it can rot, split, warp or become susceptible to mould, mildew, fire and termites; so it should duly be treated for protection.

- You’ll want a lock on the shed door. Garden equipments are expensive and a lock will deter thieves. More importantly, it will keep curious children away from sharp tools and garden chemicals housed inside your garden sheds.

Pedata RV Center Forecasts RV Sales and Rentals Continuing to Increase Over the Holidays

Pedata RV Center Forecasts RV Sales and Rentals Continuing to Increase Over the Holidays

Bellingham, WA (Vocus) September 2, 2009

The National Park Service’s ‘fee-free weekends’ made motorhome travel even more affordable. For the 63% of RVers who claim visiting National Parks is top on their list of travel stops, their summer fun helped save even more money and most likely contributed to the rise in RV rentals this summer. This winter, it looks like RVers will be hitting their RVs once again to visit families and take vacations.

A recent Good Sam Clubs Member Survey showed 71% of RVers will not let the economy interfere with their plans to travel over the holidays. 81% of those said they will travel the same amount or more than the previous year. “We’ve been seeing the economy start to come around and RVers are confirming that,” says Clint Ethington of Pedata RV Center.

While RVing is a more cost effective way to travel than paying for airfare and hotels, RVers aren’t cutting costs on decoration. Over a third of RVers hang lights, put up trees and turn their RVs into a moving holiday. Having the comforts of home while traveling make Christmas feel special no matter where you are.

“It makes sense to us,” says Ethington. “RVers love their lifestyle. Not only does RVing become part of who they are, but being an economic way to travel, it’s not something RVers are willing to give up easily.”

The four women and one man were selected through an online vote held during the last three months. This is the first year that a male military spouse is in the running.

“Our five branch winners are all amazing people and all very worthy of being Military Spouse of the Year,” said Babette Maxwell, Military Spouse magazine founder and executive editor. “I urge everyone to get to know them and VOTE!”

In Explosive New Book FORGED, Bible Scholar Bart Ehrman Exposes Deceptive and Misleading Forgeries in the New Testament

Published by Ares under Ares Music

In Explosive New Book FORGED, Bible Scholar Bart Ehrman Exposes Deceptive and Misleading Forgeries in the New Testament

Forged: Writing in the Name of God – Why the Bible’s Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are by Bart Erhman

San Francisco, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 21, 2011

According to leading biblical scholar Bart Ehrman, many of his contemporaries have it wrong when it comes to the Bible. Instead of calling biblical forgeries what they are—lies—they often fall back on safer scholarly terms, stopping just short of the word “forgery.”

Ehrman, however, is not afraid of breaking rank with his fellow scholars and speaking the truth. In his new book, Forged: Writing in the name of God—Why the Bible’s Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are (HarperOne; April 2011), the New York Times bestselling author debunks many popular myths about the Bible’s forged books and letters, including the idea that “writing in the name of another” was a common, accepted practice in antiquity. According to Ehrman, forgery was just as disgraceful then as it is today.

In Forged, Ehrman reveals:

The Apostle Peter was illiterate, and therefore could not have written two letters (1 & 2 Peter) credited to him in the Bible.
Six of the Pauline letters in the New Testament are forgeries.
The First Book of Timothy, known to be a forgery, is still used today to oppress women, and provides the Scriptural basis for the Roman Catholic Church’s refusal to ordain female priests.

Posing the provocative argument that parts of the Bible contain intentional deceptions, and that some of its texts were deliberately and painstakingly crafted to further the agendas of Christians living after the apostles, Forged will again turn upside down what we “know” about the Bible.

About the Author

Bart Ehrman is the author of more than twenty books, including the New York Times bestselling Misquoting Jesus, God’s Problem, and Jesus, Interrupted. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and is a leading authority on the Bible and the life of Jesus. He has been featured in Time and has appeared on NBC Dateline, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, CNN, History Channel, and other top media outlets. He lives in Durham, North Carolina.

Praise for Forged:

“Calling any epistles written falsely in another’s name ‘forgeries,’ Ehrman steps away from academic niceties and convoluted explanations…[a] gloves-are-off review of New Testament authorship.” — Kirkus Reviews

“Written in a manner accessible to non-specialists, Ehrman argues that many books of the New Testament are not simply written by people other than the ones to whom they are attributed, but that they are deliberate forgeries.…Ehrman’s introduction to the arguments and debates among different religious communities of the first few centuries and among the early Christians themselves…is especially valuable.” — Publishers Weekly

Select Praise for Bart Ehrman:

“Ehrman’s clarity is something to emulate.” — Lisa Miller, Newsweek

“[A] serious inquiry.…Ehrman pursues it with an energy and goodwill that invite further conversation with sympathetic and unsympathetic readers alike. This book (God’s Problem) neither trivializes its subject nor demonizes those who have a different view of it, which is more than can be said for the efforts of those fashionable atheist writers whose major form of argument would seem to be ridicule.” — Stanley Fish, New York Times

“Ehrman’s career is testament to the fact that no one can slice and dice a belief system more surgically than someone who grew up inside it….There’s something delicious (for nonbelievers, anyway) about the implacable, dispassionate way that Ehrman reveals how the supposedly ‘divine truth’ of Christianity was historically constructed.” — Salon.com

What is a made up Greek myth about Ares and Athena?

Published by Ares under Ares Music

Question by Savannah H: What is a made up Greek myth about Ares and Athena?
In school we have to write a play with someone else in your group. Im playing Ares and she is Athena. It has to describe why something is the way it is. Ex: why roses are red. It also has to tell about a lesson that is taught. Athena is easily jealous and Ares loves blood. Ares is god of war and athena is of war and wisdom. They are brother and sister and hate each other. i need the basic layout of it and a lesson taught through it.If you need any additional info tell me.

Since its about the god and goddess of war make it about why there is constant struggle between men and women or the reason for rivalry between siblings.

Tents Are Essential Equipment For Camping

Published by Ares under Ares Music

Article by David Robertson

Camping can be one of the most enjoyable times for families and outdoors enthusiasts. Choosing the right gear for your adventure can be a bit daunting with so many different types of gear available.

If you plan on just camping once in the summer price may be the biggest influence on your decision. If you would like to be a bit more involed in this great way to experience the outdoors have price as a secondary issue. Quality will be far more important than the .00 you saved on your tent when it leaks or lets the bugs in.

Tents come in all shapes and sizes and in many different fabrics. Price ranges can be all over the map as well. When looking for a tent I would suggest the self supporting dome tents is what you should be looking at. The older pole tents are are still available but you will have peg guide lines into the ground to hold them up. This won’t work on bare rock or sand so the dome tent is much more versatile.

Look for a dome tent that has the fly come near to the ground. This will help shed water away from the tent in a rain storm. The tents that have a small cap fly allow the sides to get soaked which can seap into the tent and soak your clothes etc.

I have used a two pole dome tent for years and have been very pleased how it worked for me. More poles add more strength to the structure (better for high winds) but will add more weight if you have to carry it any distance. Fiberglass poles are realatively cheap and last a good while but can be damaged over the years. Carbon fiber is better but more expensive. Best is aluminum tubing but can get expensive. If you can carry a spare segment for your poles. If you have to make repairs in the bush because someone stepped on a pole in the dark setting up the tent, you life will be a whole lot easier with a spare.

Zippers are about as important as poles. A good zipper will last for many years and take a fair amount of abuse. A cheap zipper may fail on the first outing. If this is in your backyard no problem. If you are 20 miles from help and repairs this may mean a horrible night spent fending off mosquitos or other insects and critters that find their way into a tent with an open hole.

The mesh on the windows and door should be at least mosquito quality. If you venture into “no-see-um” territory then you will need the finer mesh. Make sure that the tent has some form of storm flaps that will cover where the zippers are. This simple little flap helps wick moisture away from the zippers and keep you dry.

Dry is a huge issue when you are getting soaked in your tent. It can completely ruin your camping trip. A good nylon will act as an umbrella when it is tight. Some may need the seams to be waterproofed before your trip. Ask your outfitter about this.

Consider the chances of having to set your tent up in the dark. Can you do this with out a flashligt? Practice before a long trip. A good solid lightweight tent makes camping so much more enjoyable especially when you have to hide from the elements for a few hours or days. Choose your tent well and take care of it on and off your adventures and it will give you many years of service.
